Does it look like a baby room yet?

I would say we have some serious work to do to get this room ready for our little one...

Trevor has been... reminding me... to make a post of his most recent accomplishments in the realm of woodworking.

I know that none of you can make it, but I thought you would all like to know that you are officially invited.

Love you,

Renaissance Halloween

THANK YOU ALYSON (and whoever else helped with this project). For Christmas last year Alyson had the brilliant idea to make Trevor and me Halloween costumes. I am sure the project turned out to be a lot more of a headache than she expected, but we are so grateful for her efforts. They turned out AMAZING. For Halloween we went to our ward's Trunk or Treat (which was pretty impressive I must say), and we were complemented all night long for how awesome our costumes were. One person even asked us if we were members of BYU's Sword and Quill club. For those of you who don't know what that is, they are a group of people who are really into renaissance stuff... I was happy to say that we weren't, but pleased that our costumes were that cool. Anyway, here are some pics to you can see for yourself.

Bethany's Birthday

"You've had another Birthday, a happy one we know..." That is right folks, I am now 23 years old. My younger sister's say that is old, but I don't feel old. Besides, 23 is still early 20s. Anyway, I had a good birthday filled with things that good birthdays are supposed to be filled with: presents, cake, family, pumpkins (if you are an October baby), and a long bubble bath.

Now I don't have to take my fabric to my mom's house to cut, I can do it at home

Because my birthday is so close to Halloween, we always carve pumpkins. We are all standing near our pumpkins. Trev and I happen to have three, the little tiny one in front of our two is ours as well.

This is the only pumpkin that our garden produced. It is a small variety of pumpkin... but I didn't think it would be that small. Anyway, I decided it was the perfect size for our baby Makayla. It was very fun carving it.

Dad's Birthday Gift

We took some pictures while Dad was opening his gift from all of us. Not only was he surprised, but also very excited about his new tennis racket.

Basement Cabinets

I have been working on some cabinets for the basement for a long time, but haven't completed them because some other projects took precedence. I was able to put in some more time this weekend and they are nearing completion.
Here is painting a door, and below is a door with the painting completed. And lastly this is about how they will look in the basement. I haven't done the leveling, and haven't attached the drawers and front to the last of the three cabinets, but they still look pretty good, I think. Also, hopefully at some point I'll actually put a countertop on them, but they may have to wait a while.

Weekend Warriors

You can finally get to our front door safely; we have a walkway. We did this a few weekends ago, but I finally got outside to take the after picture.

Trevor and my Dad got a workout lifting that last stone. It is huge. We are really happy with the way that it turned out.

Cailah and Abigail

Last weekend we went up to Alyson's house. Kristin did an excellent job highlighting it in her blog, so check it out. She did leave out that Cailah LOVED our dog, and we were pleased to find out that Abigail is pretty good with kids. She did escape whenever possible though. :)

News

Just two quick updates. 1) We finally finished all of the requirements to get our basement as a legal accessory apartment. Projects included seismic straps on the water heater, a hand rail, two new windows, small steps to get up to the windows, smoke detectors, and special plugs by water sources. Most of the projects were pretty simple. We are just glad that the windows are done.
2) Now that we are all legal... we have decided that it is time to try and sell. We knew that we would eventually move closer to work because Trev commutes a total of 110 miles a day, but we thought it would be in a year or two. We both feel really good about our decision, and look forward to an area that doesn't feel like we are still at BYU.

Proud to be an American

I'm home! My trip was really fun, but I am glad to be back. Before I start with the pics, some things about Germany: the roads are small, really small. In residential areas you basically have to pull over to let the car in the "other lane" pass. Everything closes at like 6:00 pm. All of the hunk-of-junk trucks are Mercedes Benz. There are beautiful churches in every town, yet no one really goes to church. You have to pay for nearly everything in cash. The food is AMAZING, but you can't find Mexican food anywhere.

Draper Temple Open House

Trevor and I went to the Draper Temple Open House this morning. It was really nice. We carpooled up with two elderly women from our ward, and it was fun to get to know them a little bit.In case you can't tell, it was just a little bit bright, and just a little bit windy.

Abigail

For Christmas my parents gifted us a 8 month old Shitzu puppy. She is a good dog, though I would like her more if she were completely potty trained. I was her favorite until today when I gave her a bath. I can't decide which she hated more: the water, getting brushed out, or the blow dryer. Everyone, meet Abigail.
