You May Now Ooo and Ahhh

My sister had her Bridals yesterday and I made her bouquet. It isn't anything like what her wedding bouquet will be, but she scheduled the sitting 2 days in advance, so I wasn't able to order those flowers in time. Instead, we settled for flowers in her colors.

Purple Gladiolus Florets: I created an artificial stem for them with corsage pins.

Yellow Roses: I then taped my glads to some of the roses to lengthen the "stem."

Add Green Hypericum Berry and some foliage...

Dress up the handle with White Ribbon and Corsage Pins.

Voila!!! A Bridal Bouquet

I have to say that I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I really enjoy working with flowers, so it was really fun for me to do.

L.A.

Recently we drove down to L.A. for one of Trevor's good friend's wedding. We had some hiccups, but we were pretty blessed. Trevor forgot his church clothes, but he remembered the night before so we had time to buy him some new ones (we were going to buy him a new suit anyway). Our car broke down in the middle of L.A. while Trevor was heading to the bachelor party, but Makayla and I weren't there to complicate things. The straps broke on the tow-truck causing our car to crash into the grate, but the car is fine and so is Trevor. Trevor then forgot his church shoes (the only thing he did remember) in our car thus needing to wear his white tennis shoes into the temple, but you take them off anyway. Some friends of ours were more than happy to let us car pool with them until our car was fixed, which was fantastic. We also were able to pick up Trevor's shoes before the ring ceremony and reception. He said he felt like a real person again. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

She already wants to drive

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!! So, I went a little crazy this year and decided to make all of our costumes. Trevor's costume was last and was finished 15 min before our ward's Trunk of Treat. It was a little stressful, but I think they turned out pretty good. Makayla's is the best though... I actually bought a pattern for hers.

Would YOU like an apple?

I know I probably should have been worried about electrocution... but it was just so cute!

Pumpkinland

For Family Home Evening this week, we took a field trip to Pumpkinland. Makayla enjoyed holding onto all of the wooden cut-outs that they had, being pushed around the corn maze, and staring at the billy goats. We LOVED it.

We're lost!!!

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet?

They had all of these cheesy jokes throughout the whole place... this one was my favorite.

I think she is definitely the cutest pumpkin in the patch!

Recently...

I realized that I haven't posted for a while, so I thought that I had better. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to lately.

Story time, just check out that face!

Food Fight

Makayla has decided that peaches, carrots, squash, and apples are her food of choice and refuses to eat anything else. To get her to eat her greens and cereal, I have to get a little creative. Pictured here, I've lulled her into a false sense of security by feeding her three small spoonfuls of peaches before shoving in a huge spoonful of peas. It works alright, but makes a huge mess as she tries to spit it all out back at me. Everyday, twice a day, we go through this food fight. I think Makayla is winning.

Let the Season Begin

Well, it is that time again. BYU football has commenced! Despite the 90 degree weather, Makayla was a trooper. She probably handled the heat and sun better than I did. Here are a few pictures of our first game of the season (and Makyala's first game ever.)

Hermiston

Though we didn't read any books about elves and fairies, tear out any puncture vines, shoot holes into walls, or pull any fire alarms in front of teachers, we had a really great time in Hermiston. I got to actually see the place Trev grew up, which was cool, and Trev got to say a final goodbye. Thanks to everyone who made the trip out for such a short time! Here are some pics from our trip to Mom and Dad's.

Makayla had her hands up in the air for at least two minutes

We hiked the Butte. Mmm... Mom and Dad's house is somewhere back there...

We went and played at the "beach." Makayla loves the water, and quickly realized that she also loves sand. We had so save her from getting a mouth full of it a couple times. In the end though, she prevailed and was super sorry that she did.

Kayaking!
