Christmas Vacation

Trev and I went to Doug and Ashlee's for Christmas this year. It was an absolute blast. We played a lot of Hot Wheels, Geo Trax, and (of course) tackle Uncle Trevor.

We went to Pump it Up, where we both got quite the workout trying to keep up with the boys,

We went to the Zoo and fed giraffes,

and played, played, played.

Saving some for later?

Bedtime

Thanks Doug, Ashlee, Bode, and Keegen... we loved Christmas this year.

Nick is a Missionary!

We can't believe that Nick is in the MTC! We both made it through without crying... though I came pretty close.

Halloween Weekend

Okay, so we spent Halloween up at the Tolman's--which was a blast. We dressed up, and I am pretty pleased with the way that our costumes turned out. We were old-timer golfers. The funniest part to me was that Trev actually wore his costume golfing!

We both also got to get our hair done at Abby's "shop"... This is Trev getting his head "buffed."

Alison, me, and Kristin after our Hair Salon patronage.

We were totally bummed to leave on Monday, but we look forward to seeing at least Alyson and Kristin again this weekend.

Your Older then You've Ever Been and Now Your Even Older...

Holy Cow another year has gone by. I had a good birthday, I basically got to celebrate it for 5 consecutive days! That is what happens when your birthday is around a holiday I guess. We had a little party with my family, where, as tradition, we carved pumpkins...

And ate cake (Tres Leches, and yes I made it). We decided not to light the house on fire with 22 candles, so we settled for 20 strawberries and two forks (Trev's idea).

We also got to have a little party with the Tolmans, Bells, and Fitzgeralds. It was, of course, complete with the Birthday Song.

Thank you to every one who made my birthday special. I love you all.

The Driveway: Part 3

Sorry it took me so long to get outside to take a picture of our amazing driveway. We love it. I especially appreciate it when I am driving my scooter (I think that now it is a lot more safe). Here is the before shot...

and here is the after shot.

Ya, it is pretty amazing. Thank you so much for all of those who helped us do this. We would have had an... interesting time of it by ourselves. We love our new driveway, and can't wait for it to snow so that we can actually shovel it. ;)

p.s. The crack in the sidewalk is cutesy of the cement truck.

Dancing the Night Away

This last weekend I convinced Trevor that he wanted to take me to BYU's Homecoming dance. I promised that he wouldn't have to rent a tux, or wear a boutonniere, or even get me a corsage. After that, he couldn't refuse. :) Over to my parents I went to pick up my formal from high school. Luckily it still fits (though a little more snug than it used to).

We had a lot of fun. Trevor didn't get his groove on quite like he did at Aspen Grove, but he was still a lively dance partner. This time I joined him in all of the fun. I decided that dances are a lot more fun when you are married.

We LOVE Football

Mom and Dad's birthday gift to Trevor has turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving. Not only do we get to enjoy the football games in the stadium, but we also get to enjoy visits from family as well. Last weekend we got to spend some good quality time with Dad and Nick. The boys all went golfing, and then we got ready for the big game. This weekend, Ryan got to be the lucky one to come and see us. He even impressed us by bringing a super cute girl with him. Nick couldn't stand not being here with us, and so we obliged him by holding a chat session--Louisa was also included. (pictured) Basically we think that having four tickets to the games totally rocks! Thanks Mom and Dad! :)

Chewy Chocolate Mint Cookies

2 boxes devil's food cake mix
1 box brownie mix
3 eggs
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. oil
2 boxes Andes Mints

Preheat oven to 350. Mix together cake mixes, brownie mix, water, oil, and eggs. Roll dough into balls and bake for approximately 8 minutes. After removing cookies from the oven, place 1/2 of an Andes Mint on each cookie. Use the back of the spoon to spread the mint over the cookie. Cool. Resist the temptation to eat them all in one sitting. :)

Aspen Grove

We had such a great time at Aspen Grove. We loved playing with all of the kids, and really appreciate all of the parents putting up with us hogging their children. :) Not sure what our favorite part of the week was, but not having to cook was pretty awesome. Watching Nick and Ryan work their magic was pretty sweet too. Seriously, Aspen Follies was definitely high on our list of favorites, right up there with playing games in Mom and Dad's cabin.

Graduation

Hurray we did it! Thanks for coming everyone. So... we don't actually have any pictures of the graduation itself, feel free to send some :)

The Driveway: Part 2

Now that the concrete was gone, it was time to prep for the new cement to be poured. Trev and Cliff got their hands dirty moving around dirt and leveling things up. I even got to play with power tools as I cut off the tops of the stakes. We are so glad that Cliff and Jaime came into town early to help us out--as I am no good at moving around dirt. THANKS!

Even Zander helped. ;)

The Driveway: Part 1

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Mike! This last weekend the boys worked themselves silly prepping our driveway for the cement pouring party. I think what happened was neither of them wanted to be the first to call it quits on account of exhaustion, so they both just kept truckin' along. They ripped out all of the existing concrete, dug up dirt, and nearly finished the framing. Hopefully they will both be rested up by Aspen Grove.

Trevor's Limerick

I make no claims to greatness, but here is my "Randy, Kris, and Lyss" came through here limerick.

I had a visit from my niece
We played games at which I got fleeced
Lyssa dominated the game
Cause my hands were so lame
Quickly I was begging for peace

Love you all lots. Thanks so much for the help while you were here.

Randy's Trek

Randy, Kristin, and Alyssa rolled into Provo Sunday night-- and we were ready to PARTY. Unfortunately, we also had to squeeze in work and midterms. BUT we had as much fun with them as we possibly could. We played 5 crowns, Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, Apples to Apples, and Citadels. Alyssa stomped us all at 5 crowns and Settlers (much to Trevors chagrin). As tradition, we put everyone to work on our house. Randy measured and mapped (quite beautifully I might add) our upstairs, and Alyssa helped the boys measure the downstairs so that we can legalize our house as a duplex. Thanks guys! We loved the visit and wished that we could have played more.

4th of July

For the 4th of July we went to Southern Utah where we both got to participate in a few firsts. I got to go 4-Wheeling for the first time, we went Spelunking for the first time, AND we got to see fireworks light a field on fire for the first time. :) Camping was a blast. Our new tent (which Trev had to set up in the living room when we first got it) is just right for us... but definably won't fit anyone else. Oh, we also both had banana boats for the first time, which are pretty amazing. All and all it was a great trip.

An Aspen Grove Preview

Trev and I went camping with the ward last weekend, and on our way up to the campsite we found this view. It was the only picture that we managed to take of the whole trip (oops), but it is a good one. Hope everyone is looking forward to spending a whole week in these beautiful mountains.

Sad day for the Bell's

Our run of dog loving has ended. I blame Doug. No more than 10 minutes after I told him about the dog, she was gone. The owners have decided that they would not be able to get into a situation that would allow them to get her back for a long time, so they found a new home for her.
Sad days for us, but it is for the best. They offered to let us keep her, but it just wouldn't work for us long term right now. We loved the dog, but we didn't have as much time for her as we would like. We don't have a fenced in yard, and she sheds too much to let in the house. So, sadly enough, she is gone.
You all would have loved playing with her. Maybe we'll get a dog again, someday.

Wedding Tag

1. Where did you meet? BYU 176th Singles Ward, Provo Utah

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? Probably something like… Whoa, that guy is REALLY tall!!

3. Do you remember what he was wearing? Well, we went to a football game with Sam so I am guessing jeans and a BYU t-shirt. (I remember them being slightly annoyed that I wasn’t wearing blue…)

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? By my front door in the kitchen just before he left…

5. How did he ask you out? The times I said no or the time I said yes? Okay, so basically the first time was by phone, and I was busy. The second time was by phone again and I was busy again, but we set up a date for Saturday night instead of Friday night.

7. How long did you know this person before you became a couple? How long had a known Trevor existed… about a year—I actually knew him for about a month before we became a couple.

8. Has this person ever proposed to you? Yes—and that was my answer.

9. Do you and this person have kids together? Nope, but we are working on it…

10. Have you ever broken the law together? If jay-walking counts then…no… Trevor is a very polite pedestrian.

11. When was the first time you realized you liked this person? Hmmm, maybe after the hike that we went on after the first time I told him no… After that I think I was definitely interested

12. Do you get along with this person ex's? He doesn’t have an ex-wife, and I’ve never met either of his ex-girlfriends… I probably wouldn’t like whatever-her-name is though; you know the one from his early college years.

13. What's the most expensive thing this person has given you? Diddo on the Engagement ring, unless a house counts.

14. What is the one thing this person does that gets on your nerves? Trev get on my nerves… never… okay sometimes he gets really randomly hyper when I am trying to study… but I love him anyway.

15. What is the one thing you do that gets on his nerves? Ask him to do five things all at once.

16. Where do you see each other in 15 years from now? Well, obviously I see us still married. Probably something like 6 kids, a dog, and a weekly date night to keep us sane.

17. Wedding date? November 25, 2006

18. Wedding day memories? Apart from the videographer going AWOL (thanks for filling that void Doug), it was a wonderful day. We were blessed to have all of our family there—except for Ryan. Personally, my favorite part of the day was in the Temple when Trevor answered “Yes” at least 5 times. ☺

Discovering what our computer can do...
Apparently we didn't get enough beauty sleep...

Trevor's Birthday

Trevor's Birthday was a day full of fun, including: Breakfast in bed (kind of, that was actually the day after); card games (my fun new game, five crowns); croquet (Bethany was victorious, you can see her victory pose on the left. Very intimidating, I am still shaking); Birthday cake; and the present bounty that I reaped this year (I love having a full time job).

Meet Belle

we are temporarily (meaning indefinitely) dog-sitting for my Uncle. She is a nice new addition to our family. She even has our last name! :) She is really good with everyone. She even stays out of what she is supposed to. She and Trevor have a lot of fun playing Frisbee--she is always ready to catch what he throws. She likes him a lot... and maybe she'll come to like me just as much... maybe.

Welcome to our blog

We've decided to be cool and have a blog too. We were so jealous of the neat stuff that everyone was doing. We probably won't update it terribly often because we don't really do a lot of cool things or have cute kids to post about. Anyway, this is a start. The more responses we get, the more motivated we'll be to post. Love you all.
