Off With Their Heads!

We had an Alice in Wonderland Halloween this year. Wish we had gotten some better pictures, but what can you do. Trevor taught Makayla to say "Off with their heads!" It was pretty cute.

Makayla's Bed

I mentioned to a co-worker that I was planning on building Makayla a new bed. His response is, I have a couple that I am trying to get rid of.
A day and a half later, check out Makayla in all the glory of her loving her new bed. It did not make me hopeful for her actually going to bed, but the sweet little tike tuckered herself out and bedtime was a breeze.
She loves "pictures" on the ipod especially the moving pictures that have sounds and are about her. She is very much in love with herself. The best though is every time she would watch the video she would yell "Wade" when I asked her if she could say it.

Thanksgiving Point

We took Makayla to Thanksgiving point last Saturday. She loved the Farm Country, and kept calling everything "fish" at the Dinosaur Museum. She was right some of the time.
Here is Mommy and Baby looking at the baby ducks.
Makayla is very much a climber. The first fake cow was standing. Not sure how she thought she was going to climb it but she walked up and tried. She was much less frustrated when we found the cow bench...more on her climbing capability level.
She very much loved the goats, and came back to them a couple times.
The pigs, on the other hand, not a hit. Here is the little tike clinging to Mom because the pig is making I want to eat the child sounds (aka...snorting).

She was super interested in the horses. Until it came time to ride. She figured holding to mommy was safer than trusting the little pony to not buck her off.
Luckily, Daddy was there to save the day. Using the tried and true method Daddy's everywhere used (put the kid on the pony and move far enough away they can't try to grab you) he was able to convince her riding the pony was a good idea. And...
She was very grateful. We quickly went from get me off this pony to if you take me off this pony I will scream bloody murder. And, she did.
Here we are going from the Farm World place and heading to the Dinosaur museum. We had to walk past the goats again, which gave a good distraction from the sadness of leaving the pony ride.
The dinosaur museum has a little physics lab next to it. Seriously, who doesn't associate extinct animals with modern physics theories??? Makayla's favorite was the balls rolling around the funnel. Mostly she just loved that she could throw a ball in and it would come out the bottom, where she could grab it and then throw it in again.
Sitting on the remains of a dino-baby. Super fun.
Posing on the statue...
Her favorite was the little cave just her size. This is her best Triceratops impersonation. Too bad the roaring can't be conveyed through picture. Also, Mommy only put two horns on the top of her head. Something about style and looking cute, wierd.
And here she is doing her best T-Rex. Looking around for something to eat, or at least boss around. Just in case you were able to make it through this entire post without noticing the T-Shirt she is wearing...let me point it out to you. She is going to be a BIG SISTER. WOOO HOOO. Beth is 8 weeks along, and we expect Poseidon to join us around the 8th of April.

Ballerina

My sister called one day and asked if I could bring Makayla into the studio she works at (Photo Works). They just got a new chalk wall and wanted some promo pictures of it. Can I tell you how much I love that Hannah works there!?

Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere... and none for me to Keep

My Best Friend asked me if I would do the flowers for her Sister's wedding. It was so much fun! I am really happy with the way everything turned out. So, what do you think?

Better than a Swimming Pool

We spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This little water feature was Makayla's FAVORITE. Forget swimming... she'll have just as much fun with a rock full of water!

One Year Photos

My sister is doing an intern with Photo Works Portrait Studio in the Mall near us. She asked us to bring Makayla in so she could get some practice. She still has all of the photos which is why I haven't posted them yet... but I did get this one off her her facebook page. More to come soon...

I'll Take Ranch on my Pancakes Please!

Makayla is over baby cereal in the mornings. She LOVES bread, so I thought she'd like pancakes for her birthday breakfast. To my surprise, Syrup was out of the question. Jam? No way. I knew she liked ranch from eating tomatoes, so I thought I'd give it a try. Sure enough, it hit the spot. Really!? After the breakfast of champions, we went swimming and then had a little party with family.

We had a Grab Bag of Makayla's favorite things for our guests. I was cracking myself up putting it together. It included: crackers, crayons, suckers (she likes to eat the paper off of them-take the paper off and she is no longer interested), chocolate pudding, pens (how many can I carry around at once?), a can of Peaches, teddy bear stickers, a Kitchen Towel (she cuddles with them...), apple juice, and a travel pack of tissues. It turned out really fun. Below is a picture of her Uncle Daniel feeding her his pudding. He is the reason she loves it the first place.

Cake Time!! I had some serious issues decorating her cake. My mom ended up pulling pink frosting out of my hair at the swimming pool. I think it turned out cute though.

She didn't really eat much of it, but she had fun squishing it up!

End of the Year Favorite Photos

The last few months of 2010 sped by so fast, with no indication that it will slow down in 2011. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the end of the year.

I was able to squeeze in some family photos before it got too cold

Makayla at my Sister's wedding. The big red spot on her head is from discovering that a table cloth won't support her weight.

Christmas morning Trevor got a Nerf gun... he was pretty much giddy.

Ahhh, cute little family.
